Marco y María Designer as Couture

Designers, Marco Marrero and María Díaz began their professional careers in 1990, opening a design and dressmaking workshop in Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife, and in 1998 the company Marco & María became part of the Tenerife Moda group, a designer’s promotional organism which enabled them to make their first appearance on national catwalks. Just one year later they were presenting their designs at Cibeles, and in the year 2000 they went international by presenting their bridal collection at the Paris Show.

Born in Santa Cruz de La Palma (1993), Canary Islands, she grew up in a context of craftwork, handicraft based on exclusivity and the technique’s perfection, taking into account the impeccability of details. These aspects influenced deeply the form in which she understands design and it is shown in her works.
