
WORLD FASHION AWARDS
PARALLEL TO THE WORLD FASHION WEEK NEW YORK 2013.
TITLE: “THE CONTRIBUTION OF THE WORLD FASHION WEEK 2013 TO THE POVERTY ERADICATION, SOCIAL BUSINESS, CORPORATE AND ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY ”
OBJECT:
1.TO ANALYZE the sector of fashion design and its contribution to the eradication of poverty.
2.TO THINK ABOUT the impact that fashion design and its production have on the HUMAN DIMENSION - Human Rights, Fundamental Freedoms, and the Rule of Law-.
3.TO REACH AN AGREEMENT between Universities, Firms and Institutions participating in the World Fashion Week 2011 on the development of joint projects to eradicate poverty.
4.TO PROMOTE the World Fashion Week (WFW) within the academic framework and to the future professionals in the field of fashion design.
PARTICIPANTS:
- 2 students (final year students or postgraduates) and 1 Professor belonging to Universities of the Countries members of the World Fashion Week.
- Firms, Companies and Institutions which participate at the World Fashion Week.
LECTURERS AND FORUM METHODOLOGY: Universities’ Professors and businessmen of the International Fashion field, will analyze some Case studies.
DRAFT OF THE CONTENT (which would be adjusted to the subjects of the Conferences programmed for the WFFORUM):
MODULE I: “Economy”
· International Agreements which affect textile and agricultural production
· Economic effects related to short-term strategies
· Import and export of raw materials. Manufacturing Costs (PD and PVD)
· Analysis of the sector at a global level. The OMC. Trade and Development.
· Development of new textile manufacturing techniques to be used in developing Countries
· Transnational Companies. Corporative responsibility and Codes of Conducts.
MODULE II: “Labour”
· Fair wage and costs of production. Final owner of the benefit
· Quality manufactures in the external market. The industrial dislocation and the employment
· The OIT. Working age, gender equality
· Updated training of human resources. Interchange.
· The promotion of creativity as factor of development.
MODULE III: “Sociology”
· Social movements. The professional Associations in the sector of Fashion Design
· Aesthetics- Ethics. Utilitarianism- Dependency
· Fashion: the commercial or cultural need, natural or imposed.
· Clothes as the expression of one’s identity
· Social events, Sports events, etc, which mark the “Air du temps”
