WORLD FASHION WEEK® Paris 2013

1. GENERAL

         

1.1 Participating Countries must have an organized international, national or local fashion week and/or Fashion Association.

1.2 Participating country representatives must hold a citizenship in the country they are representing.   


2. PRE-SELECTION / NOMINATIONS


2.1 In order for a designer to be nominated and represent his/her country during World Fashion Week Paris 2014, he/she must be nominated by WFW Executive Board and/or International Committee, WFO World Fashion Organization Executive Board of Governors, or Regional Coordinators for final approval by WFW’s Executive Board.

2.1 Each participating country’s pre-selection must include the applications of the most prominent and emerging designers and artisans of national as well as international renown. Emerging Fashion Designers will be finally approved by the WFW Executive Board.               

2.3 Fashion designers that are nominated must demonstrate that they have showcased their collections for at least the past two seasons at a fashion week from the represented country or event of international standards.

2.4 Fashion designer representative will showcase a minimum of 20 outfits and a maximum of 30 in the following categories: Haute Couture, Ready to wear and Menswear.


3. OFFICIAL PROGRAM

 

3.1 In reference to the World Fashion Week Pairs 2014 fashion shows, an “Official Program” will be developed, which shall include the details of the appearance of participating countries, such as order and time of each country’s Fashion Show.

3.2 Prior to the event, the WFW Executive Board and International Committee will randomly select the order of appearance of the participating countries.


4. EXAMINATION OF THE APPLICATIONS


4.1 The Executive Board is in no way bound to accept the applications that arrive, nor is it able to grant any preferences as to days or times requested.

4.2 60 (sixty) days before the beginning of the event, a draft copy of the “Official Program”, will be released giving the Country order of appearance and schedules of the shows. 


5.  DELEGATION TO A THIRD PARTY

 

The executive board has the power to delegate the organization and coordination of the shows and of the presentations, together with the compilation of the “Official Program”, to a third party.    


6. DISCLOSURE OF THE CALENDARS

          

The “Calendars and Schedules” giving the approved dates of the events, shall be divulged by the World Fashion Week at its own expense, using the methods that it considers most suitable.


7. INTEGRITY AND RESPECT FOR THE PROGRAM

 

No one can change add or take away anything the World Fashion Week has decided to publish. Once the “Official Program” has been published, the Members and Guests shall keep to it scrupulously, with regard to the day and time of their show.   


8. POWER OF THE BOARD

          

In the event that any participating country should fail to comply with the regulations regarding the “Official Program”, which have been established and approved by the Executive Board, or in the event of any incorrect behavior – be it intentional or simply due to negligence, the Board itself shall take disciplinary measures, including that of exclusion from the “Official Program” and/or, in the most serious cases, the suspension of the participating country. Delays in the start of a show that result in any difficulty, delay or damage to the following show, are also deemed incorrect behavior.                 


9. ADMITTANCE TO THE SHOW HALL

            

Staff from the World Fashion Week shall carry out the service regarding admittance to the hall where the show is being held. The World Fashion Week can, at its sole discretion, place its own personnel at the disposal of the participating countries.      


10. RESPONSIBILITY

         

 Each Participating Country representative shall independently arrange for:

          

10.1 The observance of all laws and regulations currently in force, particularly the fire regulations and regulations governing electrical installations, lighting, and the structures for setting up the show.

10.2 The use of flame-resistant, non-polluting materials and the use of structures for setting up the show, which are not dangerous and which can be easily adapted to the spaces they have been allocated.                                                                                                               

10.3 The control of the number of participants and guests shall not exceed that permitted by law or by the competent authorities.     


11. THE STATE-OF-THE ART QUALITY OF THE EVENTS

           

The sequence of the shows – and therefore each single show – shall at all times mirror the highest qualitative level of style and content, the penalty being non-inclusion in the 2014/15 calendar. Should any of the participants not respect the above, the President, Executive Board and/or International Committee shall exercise a function of control and shall take the necessary steps immediately.


12. ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES

       

On submitting an application for participation, the candidate shall declare that he/she acknowledges and accepts these Rules and that he/she exempts the World Fashion Week and the Executive Board from any question, exception or request, even in the event of a totally or partially unsuccessful granting of the application.        


13. REPREHENSIBLE CONDUCT

   

Each Participant or Guest shall avoid any conduct that public opinion could consider as not being in accordance with moral standards, or in any case reprehensible, during their fashion shows, and outside them also.             

World Fashion Week and its delegates shall not be held responsible in any event, for any possible violations, either committed by participants and/or guests, or provoked by them.


  1. 14.TELEVISION TRANSMISSIONS    


With regard to the on-going collaboration between World Fashion Week and the television networks for the shooting of the shows and subsequent programming, the Executive Board shall decide upon the ways, times and methods of shooting for television.  


COUNTRY OBLIGATIONS


  1. To facilitate the material necessary for drawing up the press dossier: biography, collection, lines and drawings.

  2. To properly inform the organization about his or her fashion show project in terms of sound, lighting and choreography, as well as the models to be contracted on it’s account, where appropriate.

  3. To faithfully follow the organization’s instructions regarding entry time of collections, rehearsals and international press conference.

  4. These times will be forwarded in writing to the designer and models at least 7 days prior to the event.

  5. To be up to date on all tax and employment obligations. WFW shall not be liable for any non-compliance by the designer in this sense.

  6. To properly insure his or her merchandise against theft, fire, robbery and civil liability during the time that it remains on the WFW facilities.

  7. To submit his or her stage project, if there is one, to the organization for its approval at least 90 days before the date of the WFW 2013 event, which must be supervised, including it’s dismantling.

  8. Designers shall donate one of their presented outfits to WFW in order to be auctioned off to benefit WFW Charity Partners.



*Important Notice:

No reference may be made to the designer’s sponsors on the World Fashion Week premises. If there should be any sponsors who are interested in publishing their trademarks inside and/or outside the WFW event venue, an agreement must be reached with WFW on the corresponding economic conditions.


The World Fashion Week Paris 2014 trade event may modify the dates. If this occur, WFW will notify it immediately to all its Country Members.
